SEO Peek — Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
SEO Peek is published by Local Dominator (localdominator.co). You can reach us about anything in this policy at team@localdominator.co.
2. What the extension does
SEO Peek has one purpose: it audits the SEO of the web page you are currently viewing (meta tags, headings, links, images, structured data, and social tags) and lets you preview Google search results as they would appear from a location you choose.
3. Data the extension processes — and where it lives
| Data | When | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| Content of the page you audit (URL, title, meta tags, headings, link and image lists, structured data, social tags, word count) | Only when you click the SEO Peek icon on that page | Held temporarily in the extension popup’s memory to display the report. Discarded when the popup closes. Never saved, never transmitted. |
| Your extension settings: chosen search location, saved and recent locations, country/language preferences, and the on/off state of the location “follow-me” option | When you type or save them | Stored locally on your device using the browser’s extension storage. Not synced to any account, not transmitted anywhere. |
That is the complete list. The extension has no server of its own, sends nothing to us, and includes no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking code of any kind.
4. Network requests the extension can trigger
For transparency, these are the only situations where using SEO Peek causes your browser to contact other servers:
- Image thumbnails. The Images and Social tabs display small previews of the audited page’s own images. Your browser loads those directly from wherever the page hosts them (with no referrer information sent). These are the same images the page itself already loaded.
- Tools you open on purpose. Buttons such as robots.txt, sitemap.xml, Google’s Rich Results Test, Google PageSpeed Insights, and “Search with this location” open those third-party sites in a new tab. Your use of those sites is governed by their own privacy policies.
-
Location-adjusted Google searches. When you run a located search — or enable the optional
“follow-me” mode — the extension adds location and language parameters (
uule,gl,hl,pws) to Google Search URLs. The location name you chose becomes part of the search request your browser sends to Google, exactly as if you had searched from that place. Google’s handling of searches is governed by Google’s privacy policy.
5. Permissions, explained
- Read the page you’re auditing (
activeTab,scripting) — used only at the moment you click the extension icon, and only on the tab you clicked it on. - Storage — saves your settings and locations on your device.
- Optional access to Google search domains — requested only if you switch on
“Enable location change for new searches”, so the extension can apply your chosen location to new Google
searches. You can decline it, and you can revoke it at any time by turning the switch off or via
chrome://extensions. If you never enable follow-me, this access is never granted.
6. What we never do
- We do not collect, receive, transmit, sell, rent, or share any of your data.
- We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or creditworthiness/lending decisions.
- We do not run analytics or tracking of any kind inside the extension.
- We do not load or execute remote code — all code ships inside the extension package and is reviewed by the Chrome Web Store.
7. Data retention and deletion
Your settings stay on your device until you remove them: delete saved or recent locations inside the popup, turn follow-me off, or uninstall the extension — uninstalling removes everything the extension ever stored. Because we never receive your data, there is nothing for us to delete on any server.
8. Chrome Web Store User Data Policy
SEO Peek’s use of information from browser APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Page content is used solely to provide the user-facing SEO report you requested, and for no other purpose.
9. Children
SEO Peek is a professional tool and is not directed at children under 13. It collects no data from anyone, including children.
10. Changes to this policy
If the extension’s behavior ever changes in a way that affects privacy, we will update this page and its effective date before releasing the change, and the Chrome Web Store listing’s data disclosures will be updated to match.
